BayGroup International recently celebrated its 25th year in business. Our organization is widely viewed as a
best-in-class global training and consulting firm, with extensive delivery capability, a proven proprietary technology for improving corporate profitability and organizational effectiveness, an experienced management team, and a growing list of clients around the world.
BayGroup International opened for business in 1980 as a California-based management consulting firm. Its founders were Dennis J. Burke, former Director of International Human Resources for Digital Equipment Corporation; Gregg W. Crawford, successful management consultant; and Dr. Garry Shirts, one of North America's leading designers of experiential, simulation-based learning.
In the 1980's BayGroup International developed and launched two instructional systems based on Stanford University research:
Situational Negotiation Skills™ and Constructive Contention™. They were quickly adopted by a number of clients, including Hewlett-Packard and AT&T (both of which continue to be clients today).
In the 1990's the firm continued its growth by adding sales offices around the world, and shifting its emphasis from training delivery to the implementation of multi-faceted systems for profitable
performance change. With the launch of
Situational Sales Negotiation™ in the mid-1990's, BayGroup International established itself as a world leader in the field of sales force performance improvement.
BayGroup International has continued to expand its capabilities by offering a number of successful behavior change systems, including
SSN 2: Negotiating Value™, Negotiating With Suppliers™,
Making The Customer Team Work™, Making Quality Contact™, and
Negotiating Mergers, Acquisitions, & Alliances™.
BayGroup International entered the 21st century by
launching a variety internet-enabled tools to support the behavior change process. It
introduced
Email Coach™, a service that reinforces learning from BayGroup International workshops with e-mail messages, and
Online Advisor™, a web-based electronic support and reinforcement
system. BayGroup International
also developed a highly customized web-based system that allows sales professionals to analyze customer needs and then implement effective negotiation strategies in order to close more profitable deals more quickly.
Most recently, BayGroup International has expanded its work into the area of
corporate strategy execution. Its Strategy Execution Practice works with client executives to implement comprehensive initiatives (based around its
Executing Corporate Strategy™ technology) to improve profitability, achieve aggressive revenue growth, quicken sales cycles, and ensure the success of corporate
strategy at the point of customer contact.
Over the years BayGroup International has continually expanded its
capabilities—and its reputation as an industry leader:
- More than 100,000 professionals from more than 400 organizations have participated in BayGroup International initiatives.
- The firm is now recognized as a leader in not only performance education, but in related interventions necessary to close the gap between strategy
articulation and strategy execution.
- Tracking studies have demonstrated significant performance improvement and extraordinary bottom-line payback for BGI clients.
As a result of this success, a growing list of global corporations, government organizations, and universities (including Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and the law schools at the University of California and University of Missouri) have adopted the firm's approach.
